FAQs
What are lash extensions made from?
The lash extensions used at Lucid Lash Studio are made from synthetic mink material. They are meant to enhance the length, curl, and darkness of your lash line. Synthetic mink lashes are soft, hypoallergenic, and have better heat resistance to hold their curl in hot weather.
How long do lash extensions usually last?
A full lash set can last as long as your natural lash cycle, which is anywhere from 4-6 weeks, depending on the individual. Lash refills are recommended every 2 or 3 weeks so that we can remove outgrown lashes and fill in sparse areas to get you back to full coverage.
Are lash extensions safe?
Yes! When applied properly, with perfect isolation and weight, lash extensions will not harm your natural lashes. Lucid Lash Studio only uses professional grade adhesive which never comes in contact with your skin.
What is a lash appointment like?
A full lash set takes about 2-3 hours to complete. The appointment usually begins with a short consultation to figure out what you want your set to look like. Then gel pads are applied to your lower lashes to separate them from the top lashes that we will be working on. Once the gel pads and tape are on, you close your eyes for the remaining 2 hours (and get to take a nap if you’d like). Once your set is finished, you will be instructed on after care and enjoy your beautiful lashes!
Can I wear makeup with my lash extensions?
Try to avoid wearing eye makeup, especially mascara, as it can shorten the life of your lash extensions. Also, makeup remover is full of oils that can weaken the lash glue. If you do need to wear eye shadow or eyeliner, make sure to get a lash shampoo so that you can cleanse your lashes afterwards.
What do lash extensions feel like when they’re on?
Once your lash extensions are on, they should feel like nothing. They should NOT be poking you, feel itchy, or feel like they are weighing your eyelid down.
What is the aftercare for lash extensions?
Do not pick, pull, or rub on your lashes.
Do not wear mascara over your lash extensions, and avoid eye makeup.
Wash your lash extensions with an oil-free lash shampoo once daily. This will remove any oils, sweat, and makeup. Washing your lashes increases retention and comfort.
How do I know if a lash tech is good?
A good lash tech will customize every lash set based on that specific client’s natural lash health. They will also make sure to isolate (no clumping glue), aim for 100% coverage, and keep a clean and organized working environment. Lastly, your lash tech should have a lash certification, license, or have been properly trained to apply lash extensions. All techs at Lucid Lash Studio are licensed and certified!
When should I take a break from lash extensions?
Since we practice good technique and isolate your natural lashes, the lash extensions won’t affect your natural lash growth. Hence, you don’t need to take any break from your lash extensions and can continue getting lash fills and full sets as long as you’d like!
How often should I get lash fills?
After a full set, if you decide that you want to keep getting lash extensions you should schedule fills 2 to 3 weeks later. At the fill appointment we remove any outgrown lash extensions and fill in where lash extensions are missing.
